Coverly is operated by Coverly Limited in New Zealand. You can contact us at support@coverly.nz.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Coverly, we may collect:

  • Account information such as your name, email address, login details, and subscription status.
  • Property and inventory information, including property names, room names, item names, descriptions, categories, estimated values, quantities, notes, and claim-related information.
  • Uploaded content such as photos, receipts, attachments, and other evidence files.
  • AI usage data, such as scan events, feature usage, processing status, and related technical logs.
  • Billing and subscription information processed through payment providers where applicable.
  • Technical data such as device type, browser or app version, IP address, diagnostic logs, and performance information.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide the Coverly app and related services.
  • Create and manage your home contents inventory.
  • Process AI-assisted scans, replacement pricing, claim packs, and other app features.
  • Manage subscriptions, payments, trial access, and entitlements.
  • Improve reliability, performance, security, and user experience.
  • Respond to support, account deletion, privacy, or legal requests.
  • Meet legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and compliance requirements.

4. AI processing

Coverly may send photos, item descriptions, voice transcripts, or related content to AI service providers to perform features such as item detection, item descriptions, replacement price matching, and voice-assisted updates. AI output may be inaccurate and should be reviewed by you before relying on it.

5. Payments

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers. Coverly does not store full card numbers. Payment providers may process payment, subscription, tax, fraud, refund, and transaction information according to their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Storage and security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information. No system can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account login details safe.

7. Sharing information

We may share information with trusted service providers that help operate Coverly, including hosting, storage, database, analytics, AI, email, support, payment, and app infrastructure providers. We may also share information where required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer.

8. International processing

Coverly and its service providers may process and store information in New Zealand and other countries. Where information is processed internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards and service-provider commitments where applicable.

9. Data retention

We keep account and inventory data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records where required for legal, tax, accounting, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or compliance purposes.

10. Your rights and choices

You may request access, correction, deletion, or export of your personal information by contacting support@coverly.nz. Some requests may be limited by legal, security, technical, or operational requirements.

11. Account deletion

You can request account deletion at coverly.nz/account-deletion or by emailing support@coverly.nz.

12. Children

Coverly is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Coverly, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Account and data deletion

This page explains how Coverly users can request deletion of their account and associated app data.

How to request account deletion

To request deletion of your Coverly account, email:

support@coverly.nz

Please include:

  • The email address used for your Coverly account.
  • The subject line: Account deletion request.
  • Any extra detail that helps us identify your account.

What data is deleted

When we process an account deletion request, we will delete or anonymise account data associated with your Coverly account where technically and legally possible, including:

  • Your account profile.
  • Home inventory records.
  • Property, room, and item records.
  • Uploaded photos, receipts, attachments, and evidence files.
  • Claim pack records and related app data.
  • App usage records that are no longer required to operate or protect the service.

Data we may keep

Some limited information may be retained where required for legal, security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, backup, or compliance purposes. Retained information will be limited to what is reasonably necessary.

Deleting specific data without deleting your account

You may also request deletion of specific Coverly data without deleting your full account, such as individual inventory files, rooms, items, uploaded photos, attachments, or claim records.

To request deletion of specific data, email support@coverly.nz with the email address used for your Coverly account and a description of the data you want deleted.

Processing time

We aim to process account deletion requests within 30 days. We may contact you to verify your identity or clarify the request before deletion is completed.

In-app deletion path

If you have access to the Coverly app, you may also use the account or support area in the app to request account deletion where available.
